Updates and alert notices from the sheriffs office.  ie counterfit monies, scam alerts, request for witness information, missing persons, etc.

Mail Scams

  If you receive a check and are suppose to cash it and you are asked to send most of the money back for whatever reason, contact:

The Postal Inspector's Office:  1-877-876-2455

  The person receiving the information must call them directly!  Also, it's advised to contact the local newspaper and television station with this information.

Note: Do not throw anything away.  Keep all papers because you will need them.

E-mail /Computer Scams

If you receive an email, other computer scams, or fraud type crimes please go to http://www.ic3.gov and report it there.  This website is being used by state and federal departments for the reporting of computer fraud.  You may make a report in person at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office too.  But you must go to the website and report it still.
